Pre-race routine:

I love a race that is less than a mile from my house. Got to sleep in a little. Woke up a little before 6. Bikes and bags were in the car already. Got dressed. Toasted a bagel. Left the house at 6:15 and was at the race site at 6:20.
Event warmup:

Nothing much. Set up transition. Waited in the long line for my chip. Hung out in the natatorium. For DA, this race was well organized. The chip line took forever so they wer late starting, but only about 10 minutes which is really no big deal.
Swim
  • 07m 15s
  • 300 meters
  • 02m 25s / 100 meters
Comments:

Thought this was better than it was. It does count the time to get out of the pool and hit the timing mat outside. Considering the lack of pool time, I cannot be all that disappointed. 2nd fastest in my AG

Transition 1
  • 01m 15s
Comments:

Nothing too exciting. No problems or issues. It was a little chilly but I decided to just go in my tri top and shorts. Turned out to be a good decision.

Bike
  • 46m 50s
  • 12 miles
  • 15.37 mile/hr
Comments:

Forgot to put the computer on the bike so I had no idea where I was. Again, seems like I should have been faster based on feel.

Transition 2
  • 01m 26s
Comments:

Decent transition. I have to wear socks or I get blisters on the arches of my foot so that probably cost me a few seconds.
What would you do differently?:

Run
  • 35m 3s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 11m 16s  min/mile
Comments:

Just like the S and B, thought i was faster. Oh well. I went out ther to have dun and I did!
What would you do differently?:

Run more
Post race
Warm down:

Crossed, got some water and waited with Laurie and mom for Steve and Shannon to come in.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Complete lack of any type of consistant training.

Event comments:

DA did a much better job with this one as compared to past experiences with them. Nice tech shirt (or you could have chosed a hoodie). Fleece beanie. Chip line was long and as usual, awards took forever. But, they did a better job with this one.
