Comments: Took my time in transition. What would you do differently?: Speed up. Bike
Comments: What a boring biking course. Just a straight shot, up and down 23. I felt like the wind was hitting me from every direction and it began to rain on the final stretch back to transition. What would you do differently?: Train more on the bike. Buy aero bars to improve my aerodynamics on these flat straight courses. Transition 2
Comments: Slow and steady. What would you do differently?: Pick up the pace. Run
Comments: Wow did I dislike this run. I was worried that I was going to twist an ankle jumping over multiple creeks and logs on the course. I also about fell in the mud several times trying to keep a good pace. During the entire run I was having trouble regulating my breathing which didn't help. Lastly, my racing chip did not record my exact run time so my listed time is an estimate based off of my GPS watch (plus the estimated time it took to run .2 of a mile while the watch located satellites). What would you do differently?: Train a faster paces to help regulate breathing. Run in mud (LOL). Post race
Warm down: Grabbed a bite to eat and headed home. What limited your ability to perform faster: I started breathing heavy immediately after the swim and never felt like I fully caught my breath until the race was over. Also the wet and windy conditions did not help my bike time. Event comments: The race appeared pretty unorganized. Ate a bagel with peanut butter. Got to the race site early and got a great spot on the end of the rack.
