Swim
Comments: decent size waves for the start. Started on the right hand side of the group and ran down the beach and into the surf. Waded up to my waist, picked my wave and dove under and just began to swim. Ended up breathing every stroke instead of every 3rd stroke but it seemed to work for me. Came in before the main body of my group What would you do differently?: work on breathing Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Didn't get my time for this one. Felt slower than what I had done in training. Didn't drink enough What would you do differently?: Train more in inclement weather. More interval training Transition 2
Run
Comments: left archilles really hurting by 3/4 mile. Favored that foot for next mile then right hip began to ache and on the last mile did a shiffle/waddle. Came in for a strong finish though What would you do differently?: Have a stonger base of running before running on beach and not get injured!!!!! Post race
Warm down: light stretching. recovery drink What limited your ability to perform faster: injury to bilateral archilles tendons. Event comments: My first tri so I really don't have anything to compare to. Race started late. Had fun though. WOuld definitely do this again next year. Last updated: 2009-09-30 12:00 AM

ate a good breakfast 5 hours prior to race - waffles and fruit. Didn't finish it all so it wouldn't sit like a rock in my stomache. Took vitamins, drank water, had GU just prior to swim
