Total Time = 1h 33m 2s
Overall Rank = 152/464
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 17/42
Pre-race routine:

Woke up, ate a bowl of cereal and drove from the Hilton to the race site. Once I found a parking spot, got the bike out of the trunk and put the front tire on..."backwards" (this will come into play later).
Event warmup:

None really, very light stretching.
Swim
  • 16m 25s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 11s / 100 meters
Comments:

Felt as though I swam better than the Metroplex sprint in June, but I don't think the time is any better. I ran into or was run into at various points throughout the course.
What would you do differently?:

Train more in the pool prior to the tri.
Transition 1
  • 04m 23s
Comments:

There was a fairly long run (from my little experience) from the lake to the transition site. The "run" included a fairly steep, wet, up/downhill area that I'm sure some people wiped out on. Luckily, I fared well.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Bike
  • 40m 4s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 18.61 mile/hr
Comments:

I couldn't figure out why my speedometer wasn't working when I started. After a couple of minutes, I realized I put my tire on "backwards" so the sensor wasn't "seeing" the magnet. Oh well. The hills weren't too bad, but then again, I'm not too good at climbing. Pretty much every time I passed someone on a flat or downhill, they passed me at the next uphill.
What would you do differently?:

Put the tire on correctly. Push a little harder. I pushed a little more than my last tri, but due to lack of training I think I fared about the same.
Transition 2
  • 01m 26s
Comments:

Still have the basket pedals so shoes aren't a player here. Running with the bike was pretty good here.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 30m 44s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 53s  min/mile
Comments:

If an event is just a run, I can do well. However, I don't think I broke any records with today's run. In fact, I was passed by several people. I was the one passing people in June. Again, really didn't train for this tri like I should have and my performance showed it.
What would you do differently?:

Train better, more bricks.
Post race
Warm down:

None.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training.

Event comments:

Good organization with this race. The big thing I would have done differently is have the sprint start before the Oly.

Course: Various turns around neighborhoods/schools, etc. I really couldn't recreate the route if I had to. I turned left (because the person in front of me did and the volunteer said it was correct--to turn) at one point where the arrow said to go straight. Just read a USAT article where a volunteer talked of this and his/her put was we should've known the course. True, but the volunteer was at one point the whole time and they could've said to follow the arrows. I'll take the hit, hopefully the wrong turn accounts for the crappy run time.
