Pre-race routine:

My second Tri ever and my first HIM. Didn't really know what to do with myself, ate a sandwich and got into my wetsuit.

Horrible swim. Only my second time doing an OWS. Wetsuit was tight making it hard to breath. Ended up backstroking the majority of the distance. Made the swim cut off with four minutes to spare!
What would you do differently?:

Much more open water swimming before the next event.

T1 wasn't bad, was mostly empty by the time I got there. Long run to the bike start line.

Felt great on the ride, minus the rain I might have had an 18mph average. No complaints on nutrition or hydration during the bike, felt strong to the finish.

Comments:

Felt good for the first lap. Started hurting on the second lap. Did quite a bit of walking on the second lap, stomach felt very full, head started getting light on the last two miles or so. Overall not bad for the running shape I was in and never running that distance in training.

Lack of training. Not bad for a first HIM.
