Run
Comments: My goal was to run an 8:30 pace. I am very disappointed in this race. I know I had two days off, but I did a great warmup, was hydrated and had a gel at the 25 minute mark. Yes, it was very warm for a run in November, but I don't think I was affected. I did start to fall off pace on the last hill, but still made it up with longer strides. I did pick up my pace again the last 1/3 mile, but after I was done I was shaky and zoning and sometimes dizzy. My breathing was fine and I had 18oz of liquid on the run. I didn't feel better until I had 3 dixie cups of gatorade. Ugh, this sucked. What would you do differently?: Finish my pre-race snack an hour prior to the race. Hydrate more consistently prior to race time. Then when those are done, look at my watch for pace time. This run was more of a base run than race run. Post race
Warm down: 3 cups gatorade, walked around, focused on breathing. What limited your ability to perform faster: All mentioned above: finish eating at least an hour before the race, hydrate more consistently and maybe Event comments: I love this event. Nice course, beer and lasagna included. I did the 1/2 marathon last year, but only the 4.4miler this year. Glad I did since the temp was a bit warm for those of us running in 45 degrees as of late. I wish my race went better. Last updated: 2009-10-16 12:00 AM

Had two days off completely to assist my shins and left hammy to recover. Had a PB & honey sandwich about 30 minutes before the race...maybe not a good idea since it did digest, but I don't think I got the energy from it that I should have.
Ran about 1.2 miles 15 min before race.
