Walked about a mile from the hotel to the starting line. Had a bagel, plain.

Comments:

Fast start, feeling strong. Powered through the hills much better than expected and found myself quite a bit ahead of the 4 hour pacer, but lost ground late. Probably should have trained over 20 miles and at a faster pace. Definitely should not have walked the last water stop - it hurt to restart and slowed me down 20 seconds or so. Really had a great run, though, and faster than expected.
What would you do differently?:

Drink less. Had two stops as a result.

Warm down:

Great after-race fun. Got a massage, and my right calf cramped up when I stood afterwards, making the PT person cringe. Ha. Wandered around and then Lisa came across and through the food line! Was super happy to see her, and we walked back to the hotel.

Event comments:

I would to it again, with a bit more hill training.

Course: Serious hills mile 4-8. Beautiful course, sometimes winding back on itself, allowing runners to see others they might have come with but who are racing at different paces. Shouldn't have walked through the water at mile 25.
