![]() Run
Comments: I probalby didn't drink or eat enough, I carried my water and only drank about half of it, I carried some shot blocks but only ate about 3 of them. I passed all of the aid stations without taking anything. I felt really good through the first 8-9 miles, had a good pace going, was sad to leave the canyon because I knew the highway was going to be the hardest part. It was slightly up hill and I was out of gas. I just kept telling myself to keep running, finally finished, but had no kick, and no gas left. What would you do differently?: try to eat a little more and drink a little more. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Just got some fluids in me, and tried to keep moving a little. What limited your ability to perform faster: I trained pretty well for this race, probably better than my other 2 half's. Longest runs were 2-14 milers, I probably need to work on some speed work and hill training before the next one, I need to figure out how to "finish" with out running out of gas. Event comments: Good race, I hope to do again. Last updated: 2009-10-19 12:00 AM

Slept fairly well, woke up at about 6:30, ate a bagel with peanut butter, drank some coffee and water, then we walked about 3 blocks to where they loaded the busses. Took the bus to the start of the 1/2, got there about 2 hours before the start. It was very cold and in the shade and a little breezy, huddled up in the rocks to get out of the wind, drank a little more water and went to the bathroom a couple of times, took off my sweats and put them in the sweat wagon and headed for the starting line
Warm up consisted of trying to keep warm, moving around a little bit, couldn't wait to start running as it was very cold.
