Run
Comments: In comparison to America's Finest City Half Marathon this was a much more relaxed and enjoyable run. Although it has few hills than AFCHM, the hills in AFCHM are not bad by any means. My fitness is just overall a lot better, I found my lungs were easily able to keep up with pace, my legs were the only factor holding me back from a faster pace. What would you do differently?: I didn't do much in way of specific training for this event, since completing my first HIM I've been slow to get back into workouts and most of my concentration has been on swimming, with bursts of mileage occasionally. I would like to bring my legs in line with my lungs, to the point where I don't have to worry about cramping in the calves by the end of the race and can push the pace under 6:00 in the last few miles. Post race
Warm down: Walking around with Mary looking for food in the pavilion area and some light stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: My legs, started cramping in the calves in the last mile which is better than AFCHM where I was hit hard with cramps at mile 9 and was slowed to 8:00-9:00 pace the rest of the race. Event comments: Gorgeous scenery, would love to do this race again! Last updated: 2009-10-22 12:00 AM

Woke up about 2.5 hours before the race and took in some gatorade, water, PB sandwich and part of a clif bar. Approximately 700 calories. Couldn't stomach anymore.
Not a lot, a short run around the parking lot with some speed worked in. Some very minimal stretching and a gel as I head to the start line.
