Swim
Comments: My swim was AWESOME! I am still excited. I have struggled so much with the swim leg and I have been working so hard all summer. I even learned flip turns this summer to help with my breath control and stamina. I dropped 41 seconds off last years time at this tri and 20 seconds off my best. Not that much but for me a HUGE improvement. I didn't get passed as much as usual and I actually passed quite a few. I have been scared to move out around someone else b/c in the past it has made me so winded. But this time I just moved on by! Awesome feeling. I think I could have even gone faster, so I'm psyched for next year! What would you do differently?: Push a little harder now that I know I had it in me. Transition 1
Comments: I probably could have improved here a bit but had to dry my feet good since I don't wear socks. I really don't stress enough on transitions, and this is the hardest one. What would you do differently?: Try to do things faster lol Bike
Comments: It was really windy and that factor combined with a complete lack of training on the bike caused me to add almost 2 minutes to last year's time. However, it was really only the hill on Davis that killed me. The Bear Creek hills were surprisingly easy this year. I'm not that disappointed in my bike leg since I really haven't ridden. What would you do differently?: Ride more Transition 2
Comments: Again, I just don't try hard enough for fast transitions. I even drank water here b/c I hadn't had enough on the bike. Run
Comments: This was my best run time in a tri, almost 32 minutes. My legs were real stiff coming off the bike and my left calf had cramped when I pulled off my bike shoe. I kept feeling it tighten up from time to time on the run. However, aside from stiffness in the beginning it was the most pain free run I've had. I even had a bit of a kick at the finish. What would you do differently?: Just keep on training. I've been working on some speed intervals that I'm hoping will bring me under 10 minutes per mile by next year. I'm planning on doing some 5ks this winter and maybe try a duathlon next month. Post race
Warm down: wandered around waiting for my friends to finish and my daughter to get back from volunteer duty. (She was the cute black cat on the corner of 1709 and Davis) What limited your ability to perform faster: Being a weenie, and not training on the bike. Event comments: I wish they'd get results up faster. Granted I'm a back of the packer but still. Last updated: 2009-10-27 12:00 AM

Didn't sleep that well as usual but I think I ended up with about 5 hours. I had the alarm set for six since I live so close but woke up about 5:20. Got to the natatorium at 6:15 and got set up. Met a couple friends who were racing their first tri.
Swam 100 yds just because the pool looked freakishly long to me when I first walked in.
