Swim
Comments: I swam just fine for my abilities. No fear. Just a little frustration at being surrounded by people. I could never get in a groove because I spent a lot of time sighting the buoys and other swimmers. I caught up with Brennee right before the exit. What would you do differently?: Not sure. Transition 1
Comments: I was slow, but about the same time I did last time. I really tried to dry my feet more. I didn't dry them much at the last tri and I suffered for having really wet socks and shoes. I also debated about putting on a shirt. I just took my time. What would you do differently?: Bring a hand towel to dry my feet off better. Stop overthinking. Bike
Comments: Nice ride. What would you do differently?: Not hold back so much. Transition 2
Comments: Put on my halloween shirt. Drank some gatorade. Put on race belt. I am never very eager to run, so I am slow. What would you do differently?: Hurry a little more. Run
Comments: Had to hit the potty right after I got started. I kept up my 2.5/1 run/walk intervals. My right calf and left ankle weren't happy most of the run. I did better when I was running. The calf muscle was just too tight for walking at a brisk pace. Right before the finish line, Brennee caught up with me. We finished together. :-) What would you do differently?: Nothing, other than just keep running. Running is my weakness and the hardest of the 3 for me. Post race
Event comments: I was very happy with my time. This was my second tri. I got a very bad attitude on the first tri when I struggled so much with the run. But the negative attitude was gone this time. The weather was perfect. We were scared out of our minds on how cold it might be, enough to make us thinking of leaving. Turns out, the weather will be the reason we do it again. I love not feeling like I am going to pass out from the heat. Last updated: 2009-10-27 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5:30am. As always I didn't feel like eating. I ended up having a protein drink, half a banana, 1/4 pb sandwich and a small cup of hot water the hotel was calling coffee. I was dragging my feet getting dressed, constantly asking myself "why am I doing this".
Parked near transition. Walked to registration and back, constantly wondering out loud if I am crazy or not. The air temp was 56 degrees. I couldn't shake the thought that the water temp was going to be super cold as well. My race buddy and I were going to at least get our shirts before we chickened out and left. But when we heard that the water temp was 77, we mustered our strength and decided to go through with it after all. It was her first tri and how could we tell peeps we were wimps?
