Pre-race routine:

Woke up at the hotel, which was stinky and the bed was really soft. I didn't get much sleep, I think I finally got to sleep around 1:30. Took a shower, had a coke and check out. Had a bagel and muffen and some orange juice. Drove to the event which was about 30 minutes away. Went to registration and picked up my packet and got marked. Unloaded my car and met up with Dawn to go set up transition.
Event warmup:

Not much went to the bathroom and waded in the water.

Swim at least one time in the past month.

Had a hard time getting into the shoes on the start, but took my time and got in eventually, I had some people pass me right at the end of transition that I never caught.

I had a hard time getting warmed up. I sprinted out of transition and my hr was high at the beginning of the ride. Around mile 4 was when I finally settled in to a good pace.
What would you do differently?:

Haven't really riden hard since IM Augusta, so I was pretty happy with the bike, I know I could have been faster if I had been riding consistantly.

Not being in sprint shape

I had a blast, wish I would have placed, but oh well. I am very happy with everything.
