Comments: Started out too fast and died between 250 and 300 meters. Totally worn out. Had too much adrenalin and did not swim my race. What would you do differently?: Relax, slow down and watch my pace. Practice open water swimming. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Worn out from the bad swim. It took me too long to recover. Got my HR up in the 170's during the swim and had trouble getting it down. ![]() Bike
Comments: Can't say it enough, the swim killed me. It took me a while to recover while on the bike. What would you do differently?: If I control my swim I feel I'll do better in the bike. I'm going to increase my bike training by doing farther distances and speed work. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Did not do bad here, by the end of the bike ride I felt good. There was a lot of down hill and flat at the end to help me get my HR under control. Had a little trouble getting my running shoes on (Lost a couple of seconds doing this) What would you do differently?: Loosen my running shoe a little to help get them on quicker. ![]() Run
Comments: Felt great. What would you do differently?: Train at greater distances and do speed work to get my time down. Was running at my pace about a 9:00 Min mile. Need to get this under an 8:00 Min mile. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Felt good, had an 1:30 drive, was very tired when I got home. Legs (Thighs) were a little sore after the race, on race day. Sunday and Monday felt good. What limited your ability to perform faster: As mentioned, my swim Event comments: For my first race this was a great experience. Had a great time everything was easy to follow and well planned.
