Run
Comments: This went pretty well for me. The game plan was to try and go out about 10 seconds per k faster then my goal pace due drop in elevation over the first 3.5k of the race. I knew I would lose a little time from 3.5 - 6.5 due to some hills so I wanted to have time in the bank. Pretty much executed perfectly up till around 6.5k. After that I think I took it a little too easy. I had a lot of gas in the tank and decided to leave my last gear in reserve. With only 3.5k left I should have been putting my legs in a little more pain. I think I left about 20 - 30 seconds out on the course. My main goal was to set a new PB and I did that comfortably. Once I knew I had it I think I just mentally let up. I need to get a few more races under my belt to get back my mental edge. Raced this at 194 pounds. I figure I have a good 20 - 25 pounds that can still come off so I need to get my weight down for my next set of races. It's by far the easiest speed I can come by. What would you do differently?: Put myself in a little more pain at the end of the race. I need to mentally prepare my mind to go there a little better. Post race
Warm down: Biked home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Weight. I need to make another push and take off the next 25 pounds. Event comments: I'll be back next year. One of the most beautiful 10k race courses in the world. I'm so lucky to live here year round. Last updated: 2009-10-28 12:00 AM

Got up 2 hours before the race. Ate a cliff bar and an egg on an english muffin. Biked down to the race start and dropped off my bag at the gear check.
Only did about 3 min warm up. My HR was sky high from nerves I'm guessing so i decided to stop my warm up. In hind sight I should have done a more through warm up.
