Swim
What would you do differently?: practice more swimming in my training. thought I was okay with a swimming backround. could have definately used more training in the wter! Transition 1
Comments: did not use bike shoes, just my running shoes. This seemed to slow down my transition as I had to put socks on, but had yanks in shoes so that helped. Then I had trouble with my helmet. What would you do differently?: Make sure my helmet is adjusted not to snug. This was my issue and costed me some valuable time. Bike
Comments: Very strong bike. Best ride yet of the season! What would you do differently?: Make sure I drink maybe a bit more liquid. Transition 2
Comments: My best transition. Felt fast and very efficient! What would you do differently?: Not sure??? Run
Comments: The transition from bike to run threw my body way off. It is a different feeling after every time. I was impressed though once I got my barrings and got my pace going. What would you do differently?: Try to cut down my average mile time by 2 minutes for each mile. Post race
Warm down: Walk around, stretch and drink plenty of liquids and consume food that was available after race. What limited your ability to perform faster: 1) Lack of sleep night before. 2) First race jitters/anxiety. 3) The heat and humidity. This was abig factor in my run time. not use to the humidity being high during my runs. something to keep in mind for next year and racing. Event comments: Well put on and organized. Woke up late, ate a bowl of honey nut cheerios, left... At transition set up ate a banana and drank half a 20 oz bottle of mountain dew to wake me up even more.
Biked from car to transition area. 40 minutes before swim start jumped into water on side and warmed up.
