Swim
Comments: Water felt good. Time trial is an easy way to break in to the sport. There is no fighting under the water. No kicks to the face, no odd swimmers watching you to make sure they are on course, and nobody using you as water to pass you. What would you do differently?: Practice swimming. I am a bad swimmer. I will wk on that. It is keepen me from being competitive in this sport. I will get better with time. I was doing the breast stroke after 300meters. I did no practice before the race. Transition 1
Comments: wet and nasty out. What would you do differently?: Buy the proper equiptment necessary. Then practice. Bike
Comments: I thought I killed it on the bike. I went to sleep that night and was passing people in my sleep. I did not get passed by anyone on the bike. I stood up on the petals the whole way. I think it was like an illusion when you do a time trial because you are passing alot of people who are slower if you start in the back. What would you do differently?: I left it on the course. I would have gone faster. Save it for the next race. Transition 2
Comments: Yah, I came in and sat on my butt to put the shoes on with the laces. What would you do differently?: I would buy the equiptment necessary to avoid the extra time in transition. Then I would practice alttle. Run
Comments: Felt ok on the run. Stopped and walked for a second due to calve cramps. They lock up sometimes. What would you do differently?: Probably would have avoided water on the 2nd mile. I did not need it, I should have gone for it the second mile. I could have got my pace below 7 minutes had I run the course before. Post race
Warm down: I was happy to cheer on my brother inlaw for his first race. I was happy he did not beat me, of course, but was just see the happyness that this race brings to people and their families. What limited your ability to perform faster: The swim was a nice setup. I just need to train hard all winter. Event comments: Well organized event. They followed through on the results. Very safe race, especially on the swim. Lots of lifeguards on duty. Will be there next year. Last updated: 2009-10-29 12:00 AM
