Run
Comments: The run really was just a difficult as I thought it was going to be. Considering my true lack of consistent training I am very surprise I did as well as I did. I was shooting for 4:45 and came in under that. I ended up with a pinky toe sized blister on my pinky toe. Thank god that didn't bother me. I have never had one there before so that was weird. What would you do differently?: Train for real Post race
Warm down: Well I stopped running and was able to get a banana down and some water. Light stretching, but for some reason I just couldn't get comfortable. My legs were aching like they never have before and I just needed to get somewhere. I didn't even hang around for the after party. I was spent and just wanted to get somewhere to get something to feel normal, though I had no idea what or where that was. My wife and I walked back to the hotel and things started to feel better. It was funny cause even the handicap ramps where just hilly enough to make them difficult. I did have some recovery drink on the way to the hotel. It took me about 20 min to get back to normal. I took a shower and ran cold water on my legs and we packed up for the drive home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training. Event comments: This race was fun and challenging. I would do this one again. With a bit more training next time. Last updated: 2009-10-30 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5:00am and ate about 3/4 of a bagel w/ cream cheese and had some water. Grabbed my stuff and headed down to bag drop. Wish I had read the info packet. Bag drop was a little farther than I anticipated and I met up with Keith with just 5min to spare.
Warm up. Well I walked to the start line so i guess that counts. It is a marathon after all so I figured I would be warming up for the next 13 miles anyway.
