half marathon pr

I ran with Amy, and I think we started out too quick. We ran together till mile 8 then I told her to go ahead- she kicked ass! I felt like shit from mile 9 to the end- I thought I was going to die on the boardwalk.

My goal originally as a 1:44 (to get into NYC Marathon) but I knew that wasn't going to happen so I decided to try to run a 8:00/mile overall. I am pleased with how I did- it wasn't spectacular but it's good.
What would you do differently?:

Start off slower. I also gave one of my gels to Sheri, probably didn't make a difference.

Warm down:

stretched, then walked around a bunch.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not following the training plan

Event comments:

J & A Racing always puts on great events. The weather was awesome- I ran in a race t-shirt and capri tights (I could have worn shorts).
