Run
Comments: Damn. Sub 40 degrees and raining. Just didn't feel like I was having a good day at all, but my time turned out all right for basically a training run for the MS Blues Half Marathon. Got warm about four miles in, so I took off my jacket. It had actually stopped raining. Made the turn around, the wind hit me head on, and it started pouring. Bleh... Also, there weren't any water stops between miles 4-9. So that sucked. Dealt with a thigh cramp after mile 9 that got worse with the cold and rain, but I made it home. Post race
Warm down: Two slices of pizza, changed into dry clothes, went home to thaw out. What limited your ability to perform faster: The weather for one. My gloves were soaked and probably weighed about three pounds each. My feet were cold and soaked. Everything was cold and soaked. The missing water stop sucked pretty bad. I don't know if I actually needed it that bad, but the peace of mind of having one helps. Event comments: It's a bare bones, $20 half mary. They needed another water stop badly. Drove to the start, and it was pouring down rain and about 35 degrees. Signed up anyway. I figure not all the big races are guaranteed good weather, so this would be good for the experience. I then sat in my car until about 2 minutes till race time.
None whatsoever. I just wanted to stay dry and warm as long as possible.
