Pre-race routine:

Had a peanut butter sandwich 1 hour before race. This has become my pre race go to nutrition. I find I need something with some fat that will stick arround.
Event warmup:

Warmed up for a few miles, stretched.

Comments:

Went out conservative, at about 7 per mile. Started racing arround the half way point and strung together some good miles. Felt strong and never really faded, beat my time here from 2002 by 30 seconds. I'm proud that I'm fitter at 42 than I was at 34.

Beat my pace per mile at the Derry 16 miler by 10 sec.

Event comments:

Really great challenging New England race. This is a low tech old fashion race that is a great preparation for a spring marathon. The hills are challenging and numerous.
