Swim
Comments: I had fun on this swim, it was really good to get the first race swim under my belt. I am writing this after having done a few more tris, so looking back I am happy with how I did considering my training and experience. What would you do differently?: Train more for the swim. Transition 1
Comments: Yeah, my first transition and I couldn't get the wetsuit off of my heels. I learned why folks put body glide on their ankles. I poked around too much for sure. What would you do differently?: EVERYTHING. Bike
Comments: This should have been so much faster for me, I was really disappointed with my time. I had a few problems here. I was a spaz. Complete spaz. I screwed up shifting twice and lost my chain both times. Totally my fault, I don't know what the heck I was doing. Then I found out at the end of the race that one side of my front brake was stuck ON. Yeah, I know, stupid. The tire wouldn't move freely. I am such a moron for not noticing, so that would have improved my time tremendously I think. What would you do differently?: Ha, everything. If I have to pick one it would be to make sure my brake was not stuck on. Transition 2
Comments: Hey, I did this right! I knew I was in the back of the pack, and I was frustrated with that. I haven't had one quite so fast since. What would you do differently?: This was good. Run
Comments: The course was good, although I was concentrating on my breathing to get through the brick. Again, under trained. What would you do differently?: I think I ran this smart, I think if I trained more I could have been about a minute/mile faster. Post race
Warm down: Nothing What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training. Brake on bike. Event comments: This is a great race, great fun and atmosphere. This was my first tri, and this race made gave me the tri bug. Very well organized and supported, with great crowd support as well. Very good traffic control on Rt 302. If this race is run again, I will do it. Last updated: 2009-11-06 12:00 AM

This was my first tirathlon. I wandered around and talked with other athletes and asked questions. I didn't get in the water, bike, or run at all. I ate a bagel with peanut butter.
Nothing.
