Swim
  • 28m 31s
  • 1500 meters
  • 01m 54s / 100 meters
Comments:

Started near the back of the pack to avoid washing machine...ended up being the best decision. Water was perfect!
What would you do differently?:

Kicked more...held off from kicking as I was afraid of getting a calf cramp. PR for the swim though so wouldn't change much
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Was having brake issues before race...we came to realize after it was because of my bento box covering the brake cable. Had problems getting my bike off the rack as my seat is so high. Stopped to double check brakes before I hoped onto my bike. We weren't supposed to have wet suit strippers but a tri-group who was in the area training for Ironman jumped in and did wet suit stripping which was a nice surprise. Thanks North Shore Tri Club!!
What would you do differently?:

Been more trusting with my bike. Not panicked so much when my brake was sticking.
Bike
  • 1h 26m 54s
  • 40 kms
  • 27.62 km/hr
Comments:

We had a little bit of rain on the ride but it kept the temperature perfect. Had issues with my brakes the whole time so decided to release the back brake...realized later the brake error was my own silly mistake. NO WIND!! Also had my best 40km bike time!
What would you do differently?:

I now know not to put anything on my brake cables...it was a good lesson to learn!!
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Best transition yet...its getting easier
Run
  • 58m 50s
  • 10 kms
  • 05m 53s  min/km
Comments:

Great run...walking was minimal and had my best 10km time yet.
What would you do differently?:

Will bring a water bottle with me next time
Post race
Warm down:

Jump in the lake!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Mental Weakness...need to work on this quite a bit

Event comments:

Joe, Sarah and everyone and Outback Events do a great job at organizing these events...love racing there events!
