Total Time = 1h 13m 28s
Overall Rank = 184/365
Age Group = M1619
Age Group Rank = 14/31
Pre-race routine:

Walked around a lot, am not very good at standing still. Should have done some more stretching. Ate a protein/ energy bar and a gel before the race and did about 100 meters of swimming.
Swim
  • 11m
  • 500 meters
  • 02m 12s / 100 meters
Comments:

This SHOULD be my strongest discpline, but a complete lack of training and bad positioning off the start didn't help. I really should and esaily have the capabilities to swim this much faster, all I need is to do some training and develop some more strength in my shoulder.

I was happy with the swim in terms of positioning, I rounded the buoys perfectly, (unlike previous experiences), my exzit from the water was very good also.
Transition 1
  • 00m 51s
Comments:

Ranked 27th out of 369 for the transition and it was the fastest transition in my age group, only thing is that I lost a few seconds trying to do up shoes on bike, I sort of rode with one very lose strap on shoe, still extremely happy!!
Bike
  • 37m 40s
  • 20 kms
  • 31.86 km/hr
Comments:

Thought I did better to be honest, solid effort, I have trained a lot for this discpline. Might need to do some more speedwork.
Transition 2
  • 01m 5s
Comments:

Overal 127, AG 16th, a lathagic speed, I spent an extra few second making sure everything was fine. Wasn't feeling too good so was just trying gulp some breaths down.
What would you do differently?:

Perhaps pushed a bit harder
Run
  • 22m 52s
  • 5 kms
  • 04m 34s  min/km
Comments:

My weakest discpline, I felt I was going much slower, this pace wasnt much slower than what I ran in a cross country event for school. I am confident I can really work on getting this time lower. MY sprint at the end said perhaps I could have gone 20 30 seconds faster but I think everyone says that.
Post race
Warm down:

Never felt to tired before, it was pretty tough. I had a walk, drank heaps and then went down to the water and stood in it for a bit.

Event comments:

Really well done race, but I havent done many (NONE) so I can't compare it to anything else.
