Run
Comments: i started off with rick and shannon, which in my condition was probably a bit too fast, oh well! i wanted to run with them as long as i could. slowed WAY down for a mile or two and then felt pretty damn good for the last 10 miles or so. i drank WAY too much water as i had to pit stop THREE times, i've never stopped to pee during a marathon before and this was my sixth one. there were tons of spectators but i was still able to see my step-daughter a few times, the BT crew a few times and a client of mine (who now goes to school in chicago) a few times, it's very nice to have pals to cheer you on. at mile 25 i ran into shannon and was so freakin' excited. she looked a little beat so i was thrilled that i found her and we were able to finish together. we started and finished together and she beat me by two seconds, if you saw her, you would know why:) and through the miracle of modern medicine and a week on antibiotics, my lungs were pretty damn good the whole race, no coughing until the end, when i couldn't stop:) i'm VERY glad i decided to ignore the doc and run. What would you do differently?: not get sick, run more than twice the 2 weeks prior and train long runs at race pace. Post race
Warm down: wobbled back to the hotel, plopped down in the tub and tried not to drown. Event comments: i highly recommend wearing an obnoxious green shirt with TRIXIE printed across the chest. it appears that it is more fun to yell trixie than common names because 723,819 people outta the estimated 2 million spectators yelled my name:) YEA TRIXIE:) Last updated: 2005-10-10 12:00 AM

ate baker breakfast cookie and a rice krispy treat (thanks shannon)
walked to the race with my BT pals, waited to pee with my BT pals, shed a few tears with my BT pals over COgirl's unfortunate incident, and sat on the ground and rested my legs until the start with my BT pals.
