Comments:

Excellent experience. It was fun. I was right at the front, in the thick of things, and had to fight my way into a clear spot and just keep pushing.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really...it was a great swim...just have to work on getting faster and swimming better under pressure.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

I had to take extra time to put my race number on the back of my suit. I'm not a contortionist, so I had to go into the restroom and remove my suit and put on the number and get dressed again. This took a lot of time.
What would you do differently?:

Next time I will have a race belt that I can pin my number to and just put it on. Have the number on my back for the bike, and on my front for the run.

Comments:

Should have drank more, but aid stations were far apart, and there were only 2 on the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Bigger bottles, and more of them so I can carry my own drinks...maybe 2 behind the seat, and 1 in between the aero bars.

More aero practice may help also, and I need a bigger bike. Mine is to small for me, and I don't get a good leg extension. I'll be getting fitted in a couple of weeks for a new bike.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Transition was fairly quick here. Not much happening, but legs were already sore.
Run
  • 2h 43m 41s
  • 20 kms
  • 08m 11s  min/km
Comments:

Hard run, and legs weren't helping. Ran first 10k, and then walked the hills on the second half. Thankful for the rain...really kept me cool.
What would you do differently?:

Move timing chip up higher...rubbing on my ankle caused a small blister that was annoying during the run. More bike/run brick practice over longer distances...to get my legs used to running after the bike.

Event comments:

This is a really good, fun event. The locals are wonderful and very nice and helpful. I met a lot of nice people and hopefully made some good friends. I will definately be back again to do it next year.
