Run
Comments: My corral did not start until around 7:50, but with the crowd it was easy to stay warm. First few miles were down hill as we left downtown. I thought of FattyFatFat as I passed a guy wearing a giant hat shaped like a beer mug. The next 3 and half miles went by fast and I was feeling good. I took in water at every station (they were placed avery 1.5 miles) and gels at miles 4.5 and 6. At mile 6 things the course begin to climb a little, then again at 7, and then again at 8. That was when things got difficult, my pace dropped and the kness and legs began to hurt. Around mile 9 the course was downhill heading back to downtown and I felt a little better. It was at about this point in the race that a girl passed me texting!!! WTF, what could be that important? Or was it just that easy for her? Mile 11 took us over the Trinity River and into downtown and I was ready for some more flat level ground, but no, the course turns right and we go south out of downtown to find another little incline to run up!! I am sure it was not that bad but after 12 miles I was done with inclines. Finally, we turn back into downtown and head toward the finsih, I was able to pick up the cadence and finish strong. Ran through the finish and tried to walk easy but my legs were done. Tried move as much as I could and stretch. Got finishers shirt and found the CoorsMiller tent then food tent. What would you do differently?: Need to keep running...I have run more miles over the last 4 months than I did in all of 2009 (Jan-Sept) Post race
Warm down: Walk-stretch-beer-food-walk Event comments: I will be back in 2011. I am glad I did the race and I am looking forwrd to more training. Last updated: 2009-11-09 12:00 AM

Got up around 5:00, dressed and ate two peices of bread w/PB, cliff bar, and water. Left the house at 5:30 and was able to get into downtown FTW with no trouble. Relaxed in the car for awhile then made my way down to the expo/start.
Some light jogging.
