Run
Comments: Was afraid I was starting too fast, but seemed ok as things went on. Passed people on the uphills since all my training runs are on hills. Did walk the steepest hill on the 2nd time thru cuz my feet were sliding all over and my hr was soaring. Hoped to catch the 2 girls ahead of me on the downhill but it was too slippery to go fast. What would you do differently?: Maybe my Brooks would have done better in the mud than my Nike Frees. Considered wearing my YakTraks for traction but didn't. Post race
Warm down: Stood around chatting and cheering and eating pizza. Hung out til awards were done and all the gift certs were given out -- I got a bottle of hot sauce for 4th (overall winner was in my AG) and $20 gift cert for Runner's Roost. Also got an earwarmer headband -- nice for a $20 reg fee! Then rode over to the cyclocross course and tried it out. Very deep mud and still snowy over there. Fell twice but no injuries. Very fun! What limited your ability to perform faster: Quads still recovering from Jorge's Q2 workout. Event comments: Great race for the $ and a great workout. Last updated: 2009-11-10 12:00 AM

Peanut butter banana wrap w/ coffee for breakfast; 1/2 strength Cytomax water bottle on way to race; 1oz Hammer gel 15 mins before start. Parked at Conoco in Morrison and rode our bikes in. Stretched a bit. Chatted w/ Teddy, Michele and Mark.
Riding in felt like enough warmup other than hopping to keep warm during pre-race meeting.
