Swim
Comments: Would have been nice to have a slightly longer swim. TT start, surprised that I passed quite a few people, even one lady who was a few starters before me, had not yet started to swim when I got in the water. People were on their backs before the first buoy. What would you do differently?: Swim faster. It was a fast split for me/ Transition 1
Comments: Long run in, but I was right near the exit. It was pouring wet. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Hustle. Bike
Comments: It was pouring. Stinging rain. I have never ridden in rain like that, so I just rode as hard as I could on the flats and took it very easy on the descents. What would you do differently?: Realize that the course was 20miles and not 24. I seriously thought it was 24 so I held back a bit. Transition 2
Comments: Still pouring. I had put my shoes in a plastic bag to keep them as dry as possible and wore laces today which slowed me down slightly. What would you do differently?: No laces. Had speed laces for tomorrow. Run
Comments: It was a great run, I took it easy for about the first mile and then tried to push, but did not find my legs until mile 3. What would you do differently?: Push harder earlier. Post race
Warm down: Muscle Milk. Stretch and wait for the massage people to setup. After hanging out for awhile we packed up and headed back to our hotel. Took a nap and woke up with the sun. Went out hiking for close to 3 hours and then hit up the pools for another few. Ate dinner. More beer. Went to sleep. What limited your ability to perform faster: Rain on the bike. The fact that this was more vacation than race. Event comments: Awesome race, I really enjoyed racing in the rain. Great day hanging out.
