Sunny
Total Time = 5h 14m 19s
Overall Rank = 6/153
Age Group = F30-34
Age Group Rank = 1/27
Pre-race routine:

Up at 4:45 AM, showered, ate a peanut butter sandwich, drank a small cup of coffee. Had about another half a cup of McDonald's coffee on the way to the race.
Event warmup:

Can't say I did much warming up.
Swim
  • 30m 17s
  • 2078 yards
  • 01m 28s / 100 yards
Comments:

My swim was MUCH faster than normal, but that was due to the current. I didn't feel as though I really knew where I was (course-wise) much of the time. Swim did include a ~200 yard run that hurt your feet a bit, but wasn't too bad.
What would you do differently?:

Swim more, practice sighting more.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Not sure of T1 due to a timing chip issue. It was my first race where everything was in a bag and it took me a second to realize I should just dump it out and go from there.
What would you do differently?:

Need to work on starting with shoes on bike!!
Bike
  • 2h 58m 13s
  • 56 miles
  • 18.85 mile/hr
Comments:

The bike course was a little bit hillier (It wasn't overly hilly, but I thought it was hillier than Eagleman and than I expected "pancake flat")and there was some wind on the second half. I still felt pretty good on the ride. Time includes T1, so I would estimate that I rode closer to 19.5 MPH or maybe a tad slower.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing for the race, but would like to get stronger on the bike!
Transition 2
  • 01m 37s
Comments:

Only had 1 foot out of shoe when close to dismount line. That was dumb. It was nice to be able to just hand off bike. Had a little trouble locating my rack, but once I got there it was a good transition.
What would you do differently?:

Get both feet out of shoes!!
Run
  • 1h 44m 13s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 07m 58s  min/mile
Comments:

The run felt great!! I was actually enjoying it! The last mile or so was a killer when I got to that bridge.
What would you do differently?:

I could have probably picked up the pace a tiny bit, but I thought I did a pretty decent job of finishing relatively strong. I can see a huge difference in the pics my dad took at Mile 3 and on the way back at 10...I look TIRED in the Mile 10 pics.
Post race
Warm down:

Hung out for a little bit and waited for my dad. Then headed back to the hotel to get a shower and drink a beer.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I thought I did well, but need to get stronger!

Event comments:

I really enjoyed this race and had fun.

(Because they didn't have overall results and I am too lazy to do the math, I just used the overall female data for overall rankings).
