Pre-race routine:

Up at 5am and out the door at 5:30. Parked at the Hilton garage, then walked to the start (about 10 blocks).

Started with Corral 2. First mile was fastest for me as it always is, then settled into a good pace. Goal for his race was to break 2:00 so I wanted to stay below 9:00/mi. Got passed more than I was passing but was running my race and kept focused on pacing. Hit mile 6 at about 53 mins and felt good, so increased the pace some. Got to mile 10 and still felt good so I moved up a gear for a while but started to feel leg tightness so backed off some. Let it go for the last stretch on the boardwalk.

Warm down:

Walked down the chute and received all the goodies. More than I thought. Medal, hat, long sleeve t-shirt, food.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

As usual, train more but felt good about the effort.

A very well organized event. Great weather and time of year.
