Got to the race 45 mins before...
Event warmup:

Sat in the car debating what to wear...too much too little...it was cold but we would be running. Took a gel 5 mins before start, more on that later.

Comments:

It was fun considering I only decided to do it 3 weeks ago. Very challenging course but off road so interesting. The plan was to go slow..and I carried that out to perfection. I did walk the hill from mile 10-11 up a steep ridge but managed to run most of it. Its been 27 years between half marathons for me and it may be 27 more before I do another!
What would you do differently?:

Maybe train some more if I decide to do it again. It is a very challenging course.

Performance: Good
Course: Hilly - surely what goes up must go down. The annoying part were the "bumps" for mountain bikers. This run was on trails that are mixed use but the bumps were every 20 yards or so in some places and highly annoying since we were going up hill already! First 7 miles were up hill then a break then a cruel down and up the same ridge in the last 4 miles.
