Total Time = 2h 47m 11s
Overall Rank = 563/3881
Age Group = M35 - 39
Age Group Rank = 497/2708
Pre-race routine:

snooze in the 5th floor lobby of the Hilton.
Swim
  • 34m 3s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 05s / 100 yards
Comments:

Enjoyed the swim, solid pace. a lot of traffic from the wave in front (guys with a badge... FBI, police, EMT etc).
What would you do differently?:

nothing youc an do about the wave you get.
Transition 1
  • 02m 27s
Comments:

suit off before entering T1.
Run was quite gritty on the path.
Bike
  • 1h 08m 13s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 21.86 mile/hr
Comments:

Went too hard for the little breakfast I had.
Good consistent pace at roughly 170 heart rate.

carb/water mix was too weak and didn't take in enough calories.
What would you do differently?:

better fuel mix, aim for 1/2mph average slower to set up a better run
Transition 2
  • 02m 8s
Comments:

Some A-hole had panicked and knoched my stuff and another guy's (maybe his own) all over the place, caried onto the run with RX sunglasses as my regular RX glasses were no where to be found.
What would you do differently?:

examine the set up of the rack closer... DO NOT rack next to what looks like a newbie.

Run
  • 1h 00m 17s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 09m 43s  min/mile
Comments:

Damn hot run and not enough calories intake on the bike left me taking in gels on the start of the run, stomach was not happy.
I was very suprised to get under 10min/mile considering how hot it was and stomach feeling rough.
What would you do differently?:

don't cripple the run with a too fast bike and not enough calories in.
Post race
Warm down:

some ice and rest before going to collect stuff in transition... no I did not ever find my glasses.
Massage at the lifetime fitness tent was a god send!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nutrition plan.
considerable chaefing from a shirt I had used before left me shirtless on the run = sunburn and more overheating.

Event comments:

Logitics of such a big race made it very daunting. Had to park some way away from the start (and transition) which left me without cell phone and wallet for too long, my fault, but this meant the mini bagel and 12oz coffee was all I ate before the race and didn't have cash to buy something.

Maybe I could have left my wallet in my pants at the swim bag drop, but I didn't feel like it was a good idea, no issue with the volunteers, just my own personal concern that cost me time in the long run.
