Run
Comments: Great race! Started out a little conservative (been a while since I've done a half), but picked up the pace near the end. That 6:17 at the end was really pushing it. I got a wicked blister and finally at mile 9 I had to stop and try to rearrange my sock to keep it from getting worse (That's what I get for racing in new shoes). Somewhere around mile 12 I tried drafting this older man since it was so windy. After a minute or two I decided to press on (besides being rude to draft for so long) and he exclaimed "You go on there young feller!". Funny, because I think being 70 years old, our pace seemed easy for him. That's so awesome! What would you do differently?: Not much. Pretty happy with my results. Post race
Event comments: The Houston Marathon and Half Marathon are really well organized. I love that so many people come out to cheer despite being so darn cold outside. Last updated: 2005-10-15 12:00 AM

Woke up early, drank a little water. Walked around and stretched then headed out.
Ran for about 10 minutes to warm up (damn it was cold out there!) then got in the pack.
