Swim
Comments: Truth be told I am disappointed in this ... hate to complain about anything considering the improvement I had OVERALL this year but I can't believe I still struggle with wetsuit swims - maybe I shouldn't be upset since this is consistently where I am but I just tink I should be a bit better - at least see some improvements. HOWEVER, I am pleased with the fact I am swimming under 1:20's - just wish the wetsuit made it a bit faster. What would you do differently?: Nothing really - thought I sighted REALLY well...felt like I had a direct line for the entire race. Be nice to draft but the guys in front of me were a bit too quick to hold on to. Transition 1
Comments: Let's face it - I AM NOT GOOD IN TRANSITIONS! What would you do differently?: BE FASTER!!! Bike
Comments: I am happy with the bike today! I didn't feel as strong as I usually do on the inclines but I think I made up for them on some of the flats and downhills. The weather made it a little more difficult to "put it all out there" on some parts but truthfully, I went pretty fast the whole time with a few nervous moments that made me dial it back slightly. Good bike today and I'll continue to try and improve here so I can ride faster next year...I know I can climb better so need to get it done. What would you do differently?: Train and train some more so the hills aren't as taxing and mentally tough. Transition 2
Comments: Just not fast - think I hesitate too much - also, my shoes and stuff were in the bag so that didn't help What would you do differently?: Get faster and don't overthink Run
Comments: Really pleased with the run today! I may have missed a sub :43 but I improved so I'll take it. I also negative split the run which was my goal too. I actually was able to enjoy pushing it the last 2 miles and when I took the left after the neighborhood gradual climb I remembered what Dan and I talked about and just did the best I could to grind out fast miles to the finish...ended up averaging about a 6:40 pace for the last 2.2 miles - I'll take that! What would you do differently?: Just want to keep working so this can continue to improve - I may want to drink a bit more because I did cramp up a bit and I ran out of water on the bike at about mile 18-20. I only took two three swigs of water on the run course when I hit the gel flask before the station. Post race
Warm down: Nothing ... hung out for a bit to cheer on Dan and Geoff as they finished before finally getting some recovery in me. What limited your ability to perform faster: Has to be training if anything but I put it out there so I am pleased Event comments: Once again I love the Columbia Experience! Just a fun race and forces you to be in good form because its not easy. I look forward to next year and years to come - just hope I can continue to improve! Last updated: 2009-11-18 12:00 AM

Woke up at 3:00am - took a shower and headed downstairs for a bowl of cereal. Finished grabbing all my stuff and loaded up the rest of the bags. Brought some coffee with me for something warm and with some caffine. Met Dan at Costco and we headed down in the storm...
NONE....seriously....nothing!
