Run
Comments: I ran a close to perfect race. I started out and kept a solid pace for the first few miles to finish sub-1:40. I was keeping about a 7:30-7:35 pace and was ahead of the 1:40 pacer. I had no watch and kept missing the mile markers, so I had no idea how I was doing after 5 miles or so, but I was in front of the pacer until mile 10 where she passed me. I ran with the 1:40 pace group for 2 miles or so and then at mile 12 I picked up the pace and finished sub-1:40 which was my goal. Had pretty much nothing left at the end. My ankle/shin that has been giving me problems for the last month or so flared up almost right away, but actually went away (probably adrenaline). I started to feel it (pain) about 5 minutes after the race ended. I need to rest it for a week or so, before I get back into running again. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Ate some bagel, a protein shake and some water. Waited for friends and family to finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training. This is my 2nd half-marathon and I PR'd by over 3 minutes from my first one which was in December. I have only been running for a little over a year, so I really cant ask for much more. Event comments: Good course, fun race. I will definitely do it again next year God willing. Last updated: 2009-11-18 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5:00 to leave hotel room by 5:15 for the race start of 6:00. Ate 2 power bars and drank a glass of water.
Jogged down to the race start from the hotel. About 1/3 M or so. Stretched. Found the 1:40 pacer and waited for the race start.
