Comments:

Race topography and weather studied well to develop strategy. Race plan was executed to the letter. Due to big crowd early in the race was unable to run tangents during many turns, so incurred .11mi extra distance. Target pace for 1:30 was 6:52. Mi 1 clocked at 7:02, just like we wanted it, mi 2 was on target and than 6:44 next 3-4 to build some buffer time for the hills to come. I was in the shadow of runners entire half of the course, 6.6mi split came at 45:10, uphill pacing and effort on target, that was a critical element of this race, mi 10 came down fast @ 6:27, directly into the flat section. I battled with my stomach issues entire time, cramps would increase to moderate level as soon as I would lay the hammer, so negotiating that was a chore entire time. Last 4mi I ran alone, very fast last .2mi as I was fighting off a surge from behind by a couple of runners.
Corrected time for distance at 13.1 was 1:29:17. Very good overall and inline with objective set.
What would you do differently?:

Cut corners more aggressively to come in at distance of 13.1 mi.
Post race
Warm down:

none

What limited your ability to perform faster:

stomach distress

Event comments:

Race is nothing spectacular, at least does not even come close to KC Tri or 70.3 Kansas in it's atmosphere, best crowd mi 10 aid station done by KCMultisport folks.
