Comments: Mile splits: 1- 7:52 2- 7:45 3- 7:19 4- 7:44 5- 7:41 6- 7:38 7- 7:23 8- 7:58 9- 7:47 10-7:41 11-7:51 12-8:03 13-9:06 Since I have not really trained in the last few months, the plan was to run about a 1:50. To take it easy & not hurt myself. I figured I might be able to run 8 min splits for most of the race and fade at the end. I didn't expect to run a sub 1:42. My mile splits were very erratic. I was happy that my first mile was not my fastest (which is usually the case.) What would you do differently?: Train more. Not run so fast. I really didn't have any business running sub 1:45 based on my training volume the prior month. Post race
Warm down: Walked around. Went thru the food line- what waste, nothing to eat. Went insde the AAC for a beer. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training & a lingering sinus infection/cold. Event comments: Okay race. First time on the new course & it was good. Post race food= pathetic. Breakfast, coffee & drive to Dallas. Stayed warm inside the AAC until about 20 minutes before racetime. Walked out to the start & got into the A corral easily.
Walked around & stretched.
