Pre-race routine:

Woke up, had breakfast and met my friends who were also doing the race in the hotel lobby. Traveled to transition for bike prep and then to the start for body marking and to stand in line.
Event warmup:

Stood in line at the swim start. Talking to friends and doing some general stretching.
Swim
  • 1h 22m 37s
  • 3862 meters
  • 02m 08s / 100 meters
Comments:

Overall a good swim because I came out of the water feeling good and ready to get on the bike. My legs were under me right away and was able to run through transition
What would you do differently?:

I need to start putting in more effort on the swim. I have the ability be be under 2:00/100 but seem to slow in the open water.
Transition 1
  • 07m 13s
Comments:

Overall it was a good transition. Had a little trouble getting my jersey on being wet but it only took a few extra seconds.
What would you do differently?:

i need to buy a good two piece tri suit.
Bike
  • 6h 37m 34s
  • 112 miles
  • 16.90 mile/hr
Comments:

I had a great bike going until my stomach got a gassy feeling. This slowed my nutrition intake which left me cramping at the 80 mile mark on the bike. I had to get off the bike and stretch four times in the last 32 miles which really killed my average. I still only ended up 7 minutes behind my planned finish time.
What would you do differently?:

Something different with my nutrition to prevent the gassy feeling.
Transition 2
  • 10m 30s
Comments:

This one took a little longer because I completely changed clothes for the run. I didn't want to run my first marathon with a pad between my legs the entire time.
Run
  • 7h 15m 38s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 16m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

After cramps on the bike i couldn't run more than 100 yards. so this marathon turned into a very long walk.
What would you do differently?:

Better nutrition on the bike to prevent cramps. then maybe I can actually run on the run
Post race
Warm down:

Finished and sat down in the finishers shoot.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

CRAMPS!!!

Event comments:

Good race overall. Volunteers are the best i have ever seen. They did run out of water at some of the last bike stations.
