Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4:30 to catch the 5:40 train from North Springs. Arrived at the start around 6:30, giving me an hour to stand around and shiver. Breakfast was some dry toast and a granola bar.

Comments:

After breaking my ankle and not running for 4 months, I had no expectations for this race. In fact, I was fully prepared to have to pull out in the middle. The ankle held out, though, just enough to squeak through before the time cutoff. I'm really happy I was able to pull this off at all!

Event comments:

Drink stations - I actually could have used a few more, particularly toward the end, but I can't really complain. Post-race activities - since this takes place on Thanksgiving, there really aren't any, hence the "below average" rating. The post-race festivities happen at home afterwards anyway. :)
