Swim
Comments: Swim time is an estimate because they lumped many participants swim and T1 times together. My time was 18:46 and I know I was probably a couple of minutes in transition plus an additional minute or so walking up the pathway from the swim exit to transition before I started jogging. What would you do differently?: Watch my head position and stroke because I noticed I was too deep with my hands in my pull and my head was looking forward in the water instead of down, causing my legs to drag. Transition 1
Comments: My bike was right next to bike in/out so once I made it into transition and over to my bike it was pretty good with helmet on, buckled and out onto the course. I stop and mount my bike as I'm not fast or coordinated enough to do a running mount. What would you do differently?: Work up to running more from swim into transition. Bike
What would you do differently?: Work on climbing!! Transition 2
Comments: Pretty good. Didn't take any extra time for nutrition or have any problems with dizziness or breathing. So overall T2 felt pretty good. What would you do differently?: Work on speed. Run
Comments: Didn't push myself. Previous sprint worked on picking up pace last 5 seconds of each interval run. Today I didn't feel like it but continued my interval pace and only walked one extra through the water stop. Post race
Warm down: Walked around for a few minutes then walked back down the run course to meet up with friends as we waited for one more person from our group to finish the Olympic distance race. What limited your ability to perform faster: My weight! Event comments: Not a bad race for beginners because it's not "hilly" just one big gradual uphill. Swim is straight and short and so is the run. Overall I would probably do again just to work on hill climb! Last updated: 2009-11-23 12:00 AM

Horrible as I didn't eat or drink anything pre-race. Didn't prepare or have anything on hand at the hotel I was staying at for a conference.
Watched the Olympic distance athletes start in the swim waves for their race prior to ours. Spoke with other women around me waiting for the final mass herd wave of "All Women and relays" for the last swim wave.
