Run
Comments: I felt really prepared going into this race. I've been enjoying running with Woodlands Fit and specifically my running partner, Sydney. My niece ran with me the first 2 miles and then told be to go on ahead. I haven't run this kind of distance by myself, so was hoping I wouldn't let myself down. Had to stop for a potty break about mile 8 1/2 and it was a little hard to get back in a groove. My legs were feeling it around mile 10-11. I think I could have pushed a little harder but knew I was going to beat my goal. Finished in 19 minutes less than last year's race ... woohoo! What would you do differently?: Nothing in terms of my run, although I think I could have finished a little stronger than I did the last couple of miles. Shed my jacket by mile 1, got a little warm (but not bad) and felt like I could have done without the long sleeve shirt since I had the jacket I could have put back on. Post race
Warm down: Ate some soup, couple bits of pizza, half a cookie, water and coke while waiting for everyone else to finish up. At 1pm, went over and ran the 1 mile family race with Cameron. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing, except maybe start running 30 years ago! Happy with cutting last year's time by 19 minutes. Event comments: I love this race and will be back again next year! Last updated: 2009-11-23 12:00 AM

Continental breakfast at the Comfort Suites where we stayed. Ate a small cinnamon raisin bagel with peanut butter and drank half a coke. Dressed in lined biking tights, long sleeve dri fit shirt w/ Woodlands Fit shirt over that, black jacket, gloves, and Asics visor. Topped with fleece vest and scarf which I shed before the race.
Walk to the start line with the family.
