Run

  • 11m 07s  min/mile
Comments:

for some reason, whatever it may be, my knees were in so much pain at mile 20 out of NO WHERE! Never experienced that in training or otherwise.. killed my run.. Killed it.. working to figure out what that was about.. other than the knees toward end, I felt fantastic the entire run. I just had to power walk (holding a 10:30pace) to get through it..
What would you do differently?:

re-consider my bike fit based on late knee pain
Post race
Warm down:

release of emotional baggage the second you cross that line! water, medal, shirt, picture.. pulled up a table next to the finish line and had a great dinner with whole family as so many more became Ironman finishers!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

knees! unknown reason..

Event comments:

Loved it! First Ironman, can't wait to do others!
