Run
Comments: The first mile took us up the Great Hill, which turned out to be a good thing--it was super crowded and there was no real room to break free, so by nature of the circumstance, I paced myself perfectly. I was running, but not pushing too hard. And when we got to the top, our time was around 8:40 min/mile pace. Told my friend Jeff we had some time to make up--and we did, essentially catching up to clock time by the last two miles. What would you do differently?: Nada. I was very happy with my results! Post race
Warm down: Stretched and walked, and threw on about three billion layers to keep warm. (Winter has finally arrived in NYC!). Event comments: Great 10K in NYC, inexpensive, organized. Just sign up early, it'll sell out fast! Nothing interesting after the race (just some cold hard bagels and icy water), but you can always go out to brunch somewhere nearby afterwards. ;) Last updated: 2009-12-03 12:00 AM

Got up at the butt-crack of dawn, inhaled some oatmeal to warm up, gathered up my things, hopped on the subway to my bf's place drop off my bag.
Jogged/walked about 1.5 miles to the start line and stretched to stay warm.
