Pre-race routine:

Stayed up to late. Got up had a little toast and coffee. Watched a cool sunrise that was the last of the sun today. Drove up to meet Mike at the park&ride. Hit the rain and freezing rain on the way. The driving wasn't bad but the parking lot had some ice. Got Mike and drove to site. Got registered and chipped up.
Event warmup:

Walk carefully around the site to avoid falling, watched one guy go down. Was warned it was slippery, duh.

First goal NOT FALL DOWN. Second under 45 minutes given the condition of the roads and runners.

Started mid pack and dropped back steadily. We were short stepping it and trying to find footings for the first 1/4 mile. The main road was better.

Stayed upright the whole way. Yahoo! Mike and I just moved along discussing this and that. We were told to slow down in the chute. I guess that is a cue to sprint in, as a couple people passed us two feet from the mat. Yeah I would risk that for another place in the 130's out of 190.
What would you do differently?:

Stayed home in my warm bed.

Course: Big loop with about 140 feet of climbing. Traffic was light and well controlled. Ice covered in park. Wet with spots of slush on main roads. In neighborhood road slush and ice covered. Little precarious.
