Swim
Comments: For the first time this year the swim was good. I started in the back to the outside and was able to pass a few people. I felt very relaxed and confident during the swim. I did not hyper ventilate or get my breathing out of whack. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: This course owns me so far. I broke my chain less than a 1/4 mile into the race. Glad I had my chain tool in my kit, wish I would have had a quick link in my kit. I was able to fix the chain but lost 10-15 minutes on the repair. I also was frustrated because I had a water pack to use on the bike coarse that broke as I was getting ready for the race. Murphy's law and all. What would you do differently?: I would train specifically on mtn bike trails to be ready for the bike section. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I had to walk most of the run course again this year. I dehydrated on the bike. I used the strategy of walking the inclines, while running the flats and declines. This worked for the most part. However, I did end up cramping at mile 4, hamstring, I was dehydrated, AGAIN dang it. I was able to work it out and finish the last mile strong. What would you do differently?: I will drink more. Post race
Warm down: There was no warm down the temp was 100+ (at least the heat index was 100+). After the race as fast as I was drinking fluid it was coming out. What limited your ability to perform faster: Dehydration Event comments: I will conquer this race. Last updated: 2009-12-08 12:00 AM
