![]() Run
Comments: I forgot to turn on the GPS before the start of the race, and I didn't realize until mile 1. I tried turning it on, but it didn't work because of the trees. It's not so important, but it was annoying. I was more interested in my HR. The first half of the race was hanging right at the top of Zone 2, which was good. I started to get a little excited, and my rate spiked up to the top of Zone 4. I couldn't get it down. Overall, I was in Zone 3 the most, compared to my last run, when I was in Zone 4 the most. I still had plenty left, and I'm still not exactly sure if my zones are correct. The good thing is that I had a negative split. What would you do differently?: Get the GPS correct. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Light stretching, and I had to get home because it was freezing. What limited your ability to perform faster: I'm trying to focus on endurance right now, so I didn't want to go all out. I probably could give more for a short race, but I'd rather train towards a longer race. Event comments: This is definitely a cold race. The run itself is fine, but the cold definitely gets to you the second you stop. Last updated: 2009-12-12 12:00 AM

Didn't need to do too much for nutrition, so just ate some fruit, and had some coffee. Made sure to do some pre-stretching since it was so cold.
Did some light jogging for about a half a mile, and some stretching. Other than that, tried to stay warm by constantly moving.
