Swim
Comments: The course was definitely a bit longer than yesterday so I definitely think they made some buoy changes. However, this swim did not go as well as the day before. The sun was out which made spotting a lot more difficult. I actually almost missed a buoy because I didn't see it so I went a little off course at one point. Besides that, everything went pretty well. Took it pretty easy again and still had a solid time. What would you do differently?: Have a better idea of the course and spot a little better. Transition 1
Comments: Had a little trouble in T1 during this race. My feet got stuck on both sides while getting the wetsuit off. I also dropped my helmet while trying to put it on. I did have rubber bands on my shoes today so that went better than yesterday. What would you do differently?: Use the wetsuit strippers to get my wetsuit off and not drop my helmet. Bike
Comments: Seemed to be a little more wind out of the course yesterday. I also had a few more people around me, which was actually pretty nice. A guy I had raced against before named Igor and I probably went back and forth passing each other about 5 times each. It definitely helped push the pace. The way back in seemed tough as my legs just didn't quite have a much in them as yesterday. Nonetheless, I pushed through it and I'm pretty happy with bike split. Same as yesterday, I just sipped on my Gu2O and had 1 GU on the way back What would you do differently?: Work on my climbing. Transition 2
Comments: Had a good T2. However, while trying to take helmet off while running in, I dropped my sunglasses. I did manage to kick them to the side and was very happy to find them near my bike after the race. They're cheap ones, but I do like them so that was good. What would you do differently?: Not drop my shades, but that's about it. Run
Comments: Had a decent run again. The best thing that happened to me was a guy named Josh (who I met the day before) passed me right before the turn around. After telling him good job, we chatted for a quick second about the leaders and then I told him I was going to keep up with him the rest of the way. He gained a little ground on me after I said that, but I stuck with him quite well and I had a really strong kick at the end and I almost caught him. So thanks for the push Josh! What would you do differently?: Get faster! I still yet to do a sub 20' 5K during a race. That WILL change next weekend at Appleman Post race
Warm down: Chatted with some of the other finishers and watch some friends come in again. Then I went over for an awesome massage and pondered to myself why the heck I didn't do that the day before. It was really nice. What limited your ability to perform faster: I was definitely a little tired from the day before and I know that didn't help my performance today. Nonetheless, I was pretty happy with my results. Event comments: That was one heck of a weekend! I had never done back to back races like that so I wasn't sure how my body would do and I must say it responded quite well. I'd like to say I'll definitely be back next year, but it depends on my A races so we'll see. Last updated: 2009-12-16 12:00 AM

Got up around 5 again and felt a little tired. I wasn't sore which was good, but definitely felt tired. I had 2 bananas and some orange juice again and then Rob and I drove over to the race.
Did about a 15 minute bike ride with some 30 and 1 minute speed bursts and went up a few hills. Decided not to swim even though I had time because it worked out well yesterday.
