Run
Comments: Went out fast but not too fast like the last 5K. Last 5K I went out in 6:20 so this time I wanted to back off a little in the hope that I could maintain a better pace miles 2 and 3. Hit mile 1 marker at 6:30 (10s slower than last 5K). Don't remember time at mile 2 but felt pretty good the rest of the way. Goal was do better than last race so mission accomplished. Wore long running tights and a wind breaker over long sleeve T-shirt since the temp was approx. 38 degrees F. What would you do differently?: Not much as I ran to my ability, finished stong. Post race
Warm down: Walked over to food tables, drank water, ate banana, had some yogurt. Walked to car, turned heater on to warm up, then went to coffee shop nearby to have a cup of joe. Went back for awards ceremony hoping for an AG placing (7th oh well, podium for sure next year). What limited your ability to perform faster: Just training. Only been running 10 months after 20 year "break". Event comments: Good race, well organized. Will do next year, targeting AG podium. Last updated: 2009-12-17 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5:30. Took shower, ate oatmeal, drank a little OJ. Drove to event site (only 15 minutes, nice to have local races).
Stretched Legs, jogged around for 1/2 mile. Situated myself near the front.
