Run
Comments: Something finally clicked on this run. I actually felt really good, I had a decent time and I actually enjoyed the run. What would you do differently?: Not much. Maybe warm up a little bit more. It took my legs a good mile to adjust to the temperature. Post race
Warm down: Got my medal and t-shirt. Saw Brett again in parking lot. Talked to him briefly. Drank bottle of water and ate frozen banana and then got on bus to take me back to car. I couldn't stay around long because of other priorities. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not being properly warmed up for the first mile. But I held a pretty consistent pace so I guess that nothing really limited me. Event comments: I volunteered at this race last year and thought that I would never run it because I run the comet all the time. But I loved it. Was mainly using it as a training run for my marathon in 2 weeks. Performed really well by my standards and so it really gives me a great feeling for heading into my taper. Went to bed fairly early and got almost 8 hours of sleep. Woke up at 6 and drove down to the race site so that I could get a parking space near the start (instead of down at the middle school). Sat in my car for about 30 minutes. Ate a marathon bar around 7:00 (45 minutes before start), ran into Brett and Amanda from BT on the way to the rest rooms. Went back to car and tried to stay warm until about 10 minutes before race.
Not much. Ran a little short distance but it was SO cold!
