Pre-race routine:

Drove the course the night before just to get a little familiar, most of the course was already closed off but it was enough. Got up at 5AM, got dressed and ate a bagel with butter and jelly with some water. My wife dropped us off at the race about 6AM where I had my banana, jogged the rocky steps to stay warm and stretch (its cold in November!), downed some water, hit a bathroom, and found my corral. I was in the largest corral (the 2:00 hr/half 4:00 hr/full) and found a spot near the Cliff Pace team where I are my cliff bar and settles in to wait for the start. The race uses a wave start which was awesome, after each wave started they walked the next one up to the starting line and waited 2 minutes before releasing. At around 7:20 AM my wave finally started and we were off.
Event warmup:

jogged the rocky steps, hit the bathrooms a few times, ate some food

Post race
Warm down:

After the run, I met up with my family and kind of collapsed for bit while drinking water and having a granola bar. In retrospects, I should have stretched and walked it out first, but I wasn't feeling too great.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Crows in some spots were kind of thick, also had some injuries during training (hernia, knee problems, etc) which set me back a bit.

Event comments:

Post race organization could use some work (i.e. ran out of water/food, crowd control was horrible, etc). the rest of the race was awesome!

Course: course is nice and "flat". You start out in the city and see a lot of great sites (Liberty Bell, etc) and the head out to the more residential neighborhoods. Around the time you leave the city you hit a nice gradual hill which I guess isn't so steep as it is relentless, you then hit the park and some smaller bike path type roads and settle in for a nice long hill. Once you crest it though its pretty much downhill or flat from there. My favorite part of the course is the last 2 miles in Fairmont Park where you're across the river from the city (the full marathon goes up the other bank) and you can see the end the entire time. Great motivator. Crowds were great throughout, especially the Drexel frats.
